In a heartbreaking turn of events, the family of world-renowned skydiver and Red Bull athlete Felix Baumgartner has officially released a statement confirming that he has been involved in a serious incident during a high-altitude training session in the Italian Alps.

According to the family’s statement, which was released just one hour ago, Baumgartner was performing a routine wingsuit flight near the Dolomites when he lost communication with ground control mid-descent. Emergency search and rescue teams were immediately dispatched, and after a 3-hour search in harsh terrain, they located Baumgartner unconscious near a rocky cliffside.

Although still alive, the 55-year-old adrenaline icon suffered multiple fractures, internal injuries, and was airlifted to a trauma center in Bolzano where he is currently in critical but stable condition.
“Felix is a fighter. We know he’s in the best hands now. Please keep him in your thoughts,” the family said in a short, emotional message.
Baumgartner, who became a global sensation after his 2012 space jump from 128,000 feet, has long been known for pushing the limits of human flight and extreme sports. He has broken multiple world records and remains an icon in the extreme sports community.
