**Meet The Illinois Teenager With A 4.54 GPA Who Became The First Black Female Valedictorian In The School’s 159-year History**

Nina Mitchell made history as the first Black female valedictorian at DeKalb High School in its 159-year history, graduating with a 4.549 GPA.
She was deeply involved in leadership roles, sports, and community programs while earning acceptances to Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where she will major in business.
Inspired by her family’s legacy of excellence, Nina hopes to become a lawyer and encourages students to stay focused and never give up.
